To better serve the global community and accommodate a rising volume of high-quality submissions, Journal of Medical Artificial Intelligence will transition from quarterly to monthly publication, effective January 2026.
This strategic decision underscores the journal's rapid growth and influence since its launch in April 2018. The increased frequency is a direct response to the sustained support from authors and the academic community, ensuring that pivotal, practice-changing research reaches readers and practitioners with minimal delay after acceptance.
Journal of Medical Artificial Intelligence (JMAI) is published by AME Publishing Company, with support from Wolters Kluwer (the journal content will be made available on Wolters Kluwer Health’s Lippincott and Ovid platforms).It is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that publishes articles from a wide variety of new research and innovative ideas in medical artificial intelligence. JMAI has been indexed by Web of Science [Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)], Scopus and Ovid.
